From the editors "We continue our engagements with Women’s HerStory celebrations on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 11:20 AM to 12:20 PM in the Student Center atrium through a partnership with the Mareyjoyce Green Women’s Center and the Veteran and Student Military Success Center for another event: Honoring Black Women’s Contribution to the 1963 March on Washington. This event will include highlighted remarks from Dr. Adrienne Gosselin, an associate professor of English and Africana Studies, as the main speaker, with introductions by an Africana Studies major. Also, this event will be guided by a Black/Africana Studies graduate who is serving as a Care Team manager, Camilya Williams. The community engagement component of this program will highlight a partnership with the Forest Hill Church with a rendition of Maya Angelou’s “Phenomenal Woman” poem by Aja Hales with Malika Turner being featured as a vocalist representing the voice of Mahalia Jackson."
