You Are Here: Cultivating Your Nature and Ecological Writing

From the editors "In this open-level and multi-genre workshop, we will take inspiration from our surroundings in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and the new anthology You Are Here: Poetry in the Natural World edited by U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limon. We will read poetry and prose that explores the relationship between humans and nature and discuss how writing can reflect the mysteries of the natural world while advancing environmental awareness. Using several writing prompts and exercises, students will experiment with their own approaches to nature writing and leave with new material and a renewed connection to the natural world."
