Derek Bruff, Visiting Associate Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) details his experience in an online workshop with faculty and grad students on the topic of the use of generative Artificial Intelligence in the classroom. He shares the excitements and apprehensions regarding its use, and then describes the way potential policies could look going forward, for either preventing or encouraging the use of generative AI. The author also covers the ongoing debate about the use of AI detection software.
