The authors describe Disciplining the Nation as: "a series that we hope will be a teaching aid and documentary history illuminating some of the most influential trends, turning points, and ideas in the history of racial state violence, criminalization, policing, and incarceration, one primary source document at a time." The project is currently in "its very early stages" with the authors noting that: "we are in an experimental phase and welcome feedback from readers about what might make the project most useful to you."
