In this blog post, Su reflects on his experiences teaching a first-year writing course as compared to teaching higher-level math courses and the similarities that exist there. Throughout the article, Su encourages instructors to take on a broader approach to teaching math (and perhaps other STEM courses) similar to how humanities courses do in anaylsis, critical thinking, and the overall process.
