Cyndi Kernahan, an author and professor of psychological sciences, argues that it is indeed important to teach about race and racism in college classrooms. Furthermore, she suggests two main ways that these discussions can be had with care: by emphasizing racism as an ideology that exists systemically and by fostering belonging and care in the classroom.
