In this reflective piece, Johnson suggests that professors and instructors should consider and remember that their personal experiences can be treated as valid. At the same time, Johnson also warns the ways in which our memories can shift when described orally only, as well as the harm and silences that can occur by only relying on one source, like a primary one, and thus teaching, research and learning are best when combined with multiple sources, perspective and voices.
