Return to In-person Classes: Student Requests for Instructors

From Kelly A. Hogan: "Throughout the pandemic, both students and educators had a chance to experience and reflect on what aspects of remote teaching were positive. To inform a student-centered curriculum, it is important to learn what students value most from their experiences. We asked over 700 students engaged in QEP courses what they would like to see with the return to in-person teaching from a list of ideas and in open-ended questions. Below are some more detailed data from the survey, quotes from students related to these items (mostly from this survey but a few from a related survey), as well as my own thoughts and ideas about how to implement these. Many of these ideas align with ways we can create more inclusive learning experiences. Thanks for taking the time to read and think about how we can all take what we learned and continually improve the learning in higher education. And thanks to Laurie Buchanan, Bryant Hutson, Barry Ramsey, Viji Sathy, and the rest of the QEP assessment team for help in collecting the data. "

Abstract
